В статье приведены материалы многолетнего интродукционного изучения ценного лекарственного растения Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. В результате исследований установлены основные этапы ее развития,
морфологические особенности растений в различных возрастных состояниях. Определена длительность
ее вегетационного периода (80-85 дней) и отдельных фаз развития, что характеризует Silybum marianum
как среднеспелую яровую культуру с неодновременными сроками созревания семян, что создает определенные трудности при сборе урожая. Урожайность семян в богарных условиях без применения удобрений
составляет 4,2 ц/га.

The article gives the results of many-year introduction study of valuable herb Silybum marianum (L.) Gaertn. As a
result of the research, the main stages of its development, morphological peculiarities of plants at different age stages
have been stated. The duration of its vegetative period (80-85 days) and individual phases of development have
been identified, they characterize Silybum marianum as a mid-season spring-planted planting with simultaneous
maturation terms, which presents certain difficulties in harvesting. Crop-producing power of the plants under
conditions of dry-farming with no fertilizers used is 4.2 centner/hectare.
