This biographical essay is devoted to Doctor in Biology Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Alexander Zakharovich Glukhov — a renowned scientist in the field of industrial botany, plant introduction and breeding, biodiversity conservation and use of plant resources. His research, organizational, educational and social activities are highlighted. A short bibliographic list of his scientific publications is presented.
