Представлены личные воспоминания ученых ботаников, стоявших у истоков создания Донецкого ботанического сада, Рубцовых Алима Францевича и Тамары Моисеевны. Освещена история строительства первой очереди Сада, формирования его структурных подразделений. Отмечен ряд сотрудников, которые вместе с авторами стояли у истоков строительства Сада, формирования коллекций и экспозиций, развития основных направления научно-исследовательской деятельности.

We present the personal memoirs of scientists-botanists who were among the originators of the foundation of the Donetsk Botanical Garden, the Rubtsovs Alim Frantsevich and Tamara Moiseevna. The history of the first order of construction of the Garden, the formation of its structural departments is covered. Particular attention is paid to the pioneers-founders of the Garden, who originated the main directions of its research activities, laid thematic display areas and unique living plants collections.
